Winter decoration can be little challenging as the task of staying warm and looking nice can be a daunting one. Carpet shopping and setting them can be time consuming but with proper guidelines and tips, choosing a right carpet can be easier and time manageable.
Carpets are like clothes for our home, we all want to wear good clothes and look nice. Simultaneously, having a right carpet for your home will enhance the look of your house and will definitely set your mood right. Choosing the best carpet for home is equally difficult, because there are thousands of varieties of carpets in the market.
There are different materials used for carpets, some are fiber, nylon, polyester, acrylic, wool and blends. These carpets are such that they go well with the winter décor, your mood; it will serve your purpose.
Wool carpets for every winter
Wool carpets give your home the unique touch of elegance and excellence. They come in various shapes, sizes and colours. Right from the first step into your house to the interior, these pieces of home décor roll out the underfoot charm and beauty.
Since wool is produced in a natural way, wool carpets become an obvious choice for people with an inclination towards eco-friendly products. Nevertheless wool carpet is a natural cleanser, as it not only traps the tiny dust particles but also absorbs the toxins commonly found in the room. Wool being a non-allergic fibre, it keeps the dust mites and bacteria at bay and thereby, makes the room liveable even for the people suffering from asthma and allergy.
Mohammad Zakir Hussain, a city based carpet dealer says, “Winter is the time when woollen carpets make good business here in Hyderabad. Customers usually buy wool carpets of darker colours, other materials such as synthetic is also huge demand among Hyderabadis.”
It’s seriously important to look for the right colour when choosing a carpet. If your room is small, then it is better to go with lighter colours like white or cream. These shades will make the room look larger than its actual size.
But the problem is these colours will get dirt easily and the stains and the marks will be prominent. The dark shades of carpets will look good in large rooms, and also in spaces like drawing rooms and dining hall.
“I am very particular regarding my living area, so I start shopping before the arrival of winter. For carpets I prefer wool over other materials as its much warmer and baby friendly. Small kid tends to sit and play on the floor most of the time, wool carpet gives that warmth and cosiness,” says Fathima Begum, a homemaker in the city.
In personal spaces like bedroom, you can stick to the light shades. For kid’s room, you can use the bright colour carpets with geometrical designs and floral patterns.
